The Moment Everything Changes

One day you're a regular person who's living a normal life—the morning coffee, the commute, paying bills on autopilot. The next thing you know you've had an experience that cracks open everything you thought was real.
Have you experienced this? Do you feel as if something is missing in your life, but you can't place what it is?
That one event can change your whole direction in life. Suddenly you're asking questions you never thought to ask before: What is the meaning of it all? How do my beliefs line up with what I just experienced? How does birth and death and everything in between actually fit together? You might notice increased intuition, a renewed sense of purpose and the awareness that we are all part of something much greater. If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
When I started my own journey, I was lucky to have found a guide. But even with guidance, I've lived the trips and stumbles—the confusion, the missteps, the moments when I thought I had lost the thread entirely.
In 2014, Susan Anthony and I co-authored the book Awakened Faith: Learning to Live the Lord's Prayer in the Spirit of Christ. This book is not a book about religion. It is a book that bridges the gap between Christianity and the Christ consciousness, between the religion many of us grew up with and the living experience of divine love and unity. It was the foundation I needed then. But my awakening and healing journey didn't end with the book.
Over a decade later, I have so much more to share. As a spiritual coach and mentor myself, I've continued walking this path, and this blog series will offer the insights, practices and hard-won wisdom that have emerged from living it—things I hope will make your journey lighter and easier.
Spiritual awakening is more common than you might think, but there are many misconceptions about the process—pitfalls and challenges that often go unspoken. There's tribal knowledge that seasoned practitioners carry, knowledge that isn't always easy to find if you're just stepping into this space. You might not know where the landmines are.
This series will help you navigate what's ahead with tried-and-true practices and the clarity you need to move forward with confidence.
